The YMCA's Youth & Government program is a long-standing initiative aimed at fostering civic engagement among young people in the United States. Founded in 1936, the program was created to provide students with hands-on experience in government and public service. Over the years, it has expanded nationwide, with active programs in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.

As of 2023, the Youth & Government program served over 55,000 students nationwide. The Youth & Government program in Texas is one of the most prominent and active in the country. The Texas program is known for its large-scale participation and strong emphasis on debate and public speaking, with Texas students earning several Distinguished Delegate designations at the National Convention. Each year, the Texas Youth & Government program culminates in a state conference held in Austin, where students gather to debate bills in the actual chambers of the Texas Capitol. This immersive experience not only enhances their understanding of state government but also fosters leadership, critical thinking, and civic responsibility among participants.

Arlington Classics Academy (ACA) participates actively in the YMCA Youth & Government program, offering its students the opportunity to engage in civic education and develop leadership skills. Through this program, ACA students experience the legislative process firsthand by drafting bills, debating issues, and participating in mock government sessions. The program is integrated into the school's extracurricular activities, providing a platform for students to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios, enhancing their understanding of government and civic responsibility. ACA's Youth & Government team has been recognized as a Premier Delegation for the last two years along with several students earning Distinguished Delegate recognition at the State Convention held at the capitol in Austin. ACA's involvement in Youth & Government reflects the school's commitment to fostering civic engagement and preparing students for future leadership roles.
